Fly Fishing Resources
Fly Fishing Knots - Learn how to tie all the important knots of fly fishing.
Fly Shops I Recommend
North Country Angler - North Conway, NH - GREAT PEOPLE! My home shop.
W.S. Hunter & Company - In Concord right off Route 93, a convenient place to stop on your way north.
Orvis - Been selling fly fishing stuff from neighboring Vermont for ever!
L.L. Bean - These folks have been selling outdoor gear and fly fishing equipment out of Maine ever since 1912.
Places to Eat I Recommend
The Spa - West Stewartstown Good food, good prices! One of the better places for Prime Rib north of Lancaster and definitely a top notch breakfast.
The Indian Stream Steakhouse and Cantina - Pittsburg If you like Mexican food the Cantina side [to the right when you enter] is it, at least in this part of New Hampshire. A real friendly atmosphere with some really good Mexican food. They also have a great "standard" menu as well. The Restaurant side [to the left when you enter] will serve you a great meal in a more conventional setting. One of my favorites when I´m in Pittsburg!
Topic of the Town - Littleton Open from Breakfast through Supper, you can get a respectable meal at a reasonable price.
The Mountain View Grand Hotel & Spa - Whitefield I'm privileged to have two of the "Grand Hotel's" of New Hampshire located within the area I guide. The Mountain View Grand is one of them. For lunch or your evening meal, this is an elegant place to dine.
The Mount Washington Resort - Bretton Woods This is the "Queen" of the "Grand Hotels" here in New Hampshire. Dining at the Mount Washington is an experience! Whether your a guest of the resort or not you can make reservations for dinner. If you are a guest, most plans include dinner. If your plan does not or if your not a guest, for one all inclusive price you´ll be treated to an full gourmet meal from soup to nuts. I´ve had dinner there several times and throughly enjoyed the meals each and every time.
Rosa Flamingo's - Bethlehem The main restaurant is a little on the pricey side, but the food is excellent. What I recommend is downstairs in the bar where the Pizza is "the best in the area".
Rainbow Grill - Pittsburg Located in the Tall Timber Lodge on Back Lake, this is THE elegant restaurant in the Pittsburg area. Have a fine meal in a room just loaded with ambiance.
The Coffee Pot - Littleton Located right next to the movie theater, this is one of the best breakfast/lunch spots in town. Sorry, nothing after 2PM. (Limited seating)
Monroe's Family Restaurant - Twin Mountain Located on the right as you come into Twin Mountain from the south (Rt 3) it's a great place for breakfast or lunch. It's small and you can miss it easily, so keep an eye pealed.
Places to Stay I Recommend
Bosebuck Mountain Camps - Wilson Mills, Me area Just over the border in Maine, a venerable old set of Hunting and Fishing camps. Guides are licensed in both Maine and New Hampshire. Everyone needs at least one stay at a place like this!
The Cabins at Lopstick - Pittsburg Overlooking First Connecticut Lake, the Cabins at Lopstick are one of the nicer lodges in the North Country. If you need it and didn't bring it with you, you can rent or buy it right there at the lodge.
Tall Timber - Pittsburg Located on Back Lake, this is one of the premier lodges in the area. With the main lodge and many of the cabins right on the water, it's really a beautiful location.
The Mountain View Grand Hotel & Spa - Whitefield One of our two "Grand Hotels", a stay at the Mountain View Grand Hotel & Spa is a delight. Lot´s and lot´s of amenities to avail yourself of. When you stay at a Grand Hotel you´re living large!
The Mount Washington Resort - Bretton Woods One of the two "Grand Hotels" in my section of New Hampshire, the Mount Washington has activities that include fly fishing, golf, horse back riding, skiing (both alpine and nordic), hiking and mountain biking. The Mount Washington is a full service resort.
Eastgate Motor Inn - Littleton With easy access to I93 this motor lodge has what you need. A full restaurant and separate bar to fill your evenings. Good comfortable, clean rooms for when you're done fishing.
